the Elevated Self Blog Podcast

A Conversation With Tim Kirkland

Hello and welcome to the inaugural, first episode of a podcast called the Elevated Self Blog Podcast, a companion piece to my blog called, you guessed it, the Elevated Self Blog which can be found at elevatedselfblog.com

Today I’m joined by a longtime friend, Tim Kirkland.  Tim is CEO of Renegade Hospitality Group, which serves as a professional advisory resource to the restaurant, hotel, retail and customer service industries. Having written several books and recorded his own audio for the audio versions of his content, Tim is uniquely suited to help me and he has generously taught me the basics of recording audio by allowing me to sit with him in his home recording studio space where together, over several hours, we took a crack at laying down the audio for this foundational podcast for an ongoing chronicle of my experience as I explore the wide world of the cannabis industry and secure my place as an educator and coach in this space. This podcast will be a place for conversations like this with people like Tim that are helping me reach my goal of becoming a Certified Health and Cannabis Coach and Educator

I’m currently enrolled in The Cannabis Coaching Institute where Corinne Tobias, Andrea Meharg and Niki Wells, and a large online community of educators, cohorts and mentors – we collaborate and work together to achieve our success in the cannabis coaching universe.

This episode of the Elevated Self Blog Podcast was recorded using Audacity, a free and open source audio recording and editing tool available at audacityteam.org . Special thanks to Coma-Media from Pixabay for the music used here. They have a big selection of copyright free music, video and images available, and I recommend you check them out if you are creating content online for yourself.

I faced some challenges when putting this thing together but getting familiar with the software and learning about recording and editing techniques – and adjusting to listening to the sound of my own voice, my cadence and delivery of information was a transformative experience for me. (not to mention noisy chair sounds, dog barks, footsteps on the ceiling above…) I’m so pleased to have accomplished this recording and survived the editing process. I know it’s a bit rough around the edges, but you should expect subsequent episodes to be better and I hope to reward my listeners with engaging, insightful content as this project and my skills progress. Thanks for listening and please check out the ElevatedSelfBlog.com.
